Notes on implementation.
The Game is to be played in landscape mode.
The screen area should be flexible, but a “standard” grid is to be 19 columns wide by 10 rows high.
The bottom row is for the in-game information area, the remaining top 10 rows are for the game area (see image above or web prototype).
The in-game information area shows the remaining count for each type of shape and the total score. There is also a graphic of a dog who looks sad until the user clicks/taps on a sequence of shapes totaling 4 or more.
There are 5 shapes, 19 columns and 8 rows.
The game layout is randomly generated for each game.
There should be a high score table recording the top 20 scores. Third party frameworks can be used at discretion of the developer.
When a high score is saved, the name, score and initial starting layout are to be stored.
Games must be able to be paused and saved OR if the application is quit, or a call comes in, the game is saved so that when the user next runs the application he/she can continue where they left off.
A game must have the option to replay the current layout.
A user must have the option to replay any of the games in the top 20.
A user must be able to choose the default graphics set to be used during the game.
In the prototype, the graphics are from the original IBM version. This set will be provided for development, but a more modern set will be provided for release.
The developer is not required to create the finished graphics, these will be provided to developers specification.
