Marketing Communications Specialist- (Proposal Writer)

Job description Marketing Communications Specialist-Proposal Writer: We are seeking an experienced proposal writer with corporate experience and marketing communications expertise to support all aspects relating to proposal and presentation development. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate experience managing and directing all aspects of preparing responses to proposals, presentations and client deliverables, including content development, research, writing and coordination of many priorities. The position requires experience in a corporate marketing environment and skills which include research, writing, editing, proofreading, and production on assigned deliverables, ensuring accuracy and conformance with brand guidelines. Basic Functions: Supports all aspects relating to proposal and presentation development and special client deliverables as it relates to all client stages from prospecting, implementation to account management. Oversees proposal/presentation database content and assets to ensure content is up to date and works with administrative staff to ensure materials are well organized and easily accessible. Works closely with senior staff members, Vice President of marketing and marketing team members to compile, develop, assess and maintain appropriate proposal exhibits, appendices and illustrative documents, keeping them current. Assists with content development, research, writing and coordination of proposals, presentations, and special client deliverables. As needed, handles formatting and electronic and print production for client deliverables. Oversees design and production on assigned client deliverables and works with graphic design team on artwork and outsourced project elements as needed. Provides proofreading and editing on assigned communications relating to Our publications and oversees distribution process; acts as a back-up for publication distributions. As assigned, handles proposal, presentation, and client deliverable development from end-to-end. Works with Vice President of Marketing, business leaders, and sales team and subject matter experts as the main owner of the functional requirements needed to develop assigned deliverables by assessing, writing, researching, designing, packaging and conducting quality assurance before delivering a world class proposal. Works with Senior staff members to manage against a timeline that is well-maintained with contingencies. Works closely with business subject matter experts to collect and/or develop appropriate proposal intelligence on our business strategy aligned with customer benefits. Works with senior staff members to manage feedback that goes beyond the standard boilerplate response and achieve specific, relevant responses that showcase our understanding of the industry, business, our strategy and why this matters to them. Works with Vice President of Marketing on special communications projects as assigned (i.e. Pledge of Commitment, Client Implementation Materials). Assists with other communications projects and objectives as required and as time permits, acting as a supporting arm to the product and communications team as needed. Performs other functions as assigned by management. Desired Skills and Experience Job Qualifications: Education: Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, English or Marketing Communications Desired: Master’s Degree in Public Relations, English or Marketing Communications Work Experience: Required: 4-6 years experience in marketing communications, writing and proposal development support Desired: 2-4 years of RFP, technical, corporate communications, public relations writing experience. Background in workers' compensation, managed care, pharmaceutical or Informational Technology (IT) field helpful.
