Client in the publishing domain enabling the customer to publish books references and distributes electronic and paper books. At present, the printed books are distributed by Client from their web site and plans to have include Amazon, FNAC and other e- commerce sites. Clients are essentially authors and small distributors handling their own authors or taking advantage of their existing portfolio of old books.
In future, it is aimed at creating electronic copies of new and old books scanning printed books and starting from scratch. The main objective is to make the author feel important and create his “house” where he can create and update Authors blog, his biography, the places he will discuss and sign his books, his past books.
The immediate scope items are:
After conversion of the books into e-pub format ( which is not this scope ), referencing has to be implemented like subject of the books , Authors biography, synopsis of the book, searching the book contents in an easier way etc
After referencing these books must be made available on IPad/Iphone for the readers in different ways (nokia, android,), explained in a separate section. We start with iphone standards and will open to other technologies later.
Payments are done thru iTunes
Develop a new service for authors ( self service or thru editors ) who wants to sell their published books making it available for use in / IPad /Iphone
Further the application should have the functionalities of extracting the author’s blog from identified blog site, facility for create / update/ access the biography , synopsis of the books
Facility Provide info on when and where the author will dedicate the books , review / flip thru contents / few pages of the books
Enable the users to purchase books using Client website and from the author’s application itself
