Looking for TWO (2) virtual full-time programmers -- ONE (1) MacOS X developer, and ONE (1) core Java developer -- for a 3-month engagement. Good work performance during the 3-month period might lead to prolonged long-term engagement.
Requirement For MacOS X Developer
Expertise in multi-threaded cocoa application, framework, or plug-in development. Fluent with IB and resource programing. Basic understanding of Mach-O programming topics and Objective-C run time is required (A good or excellent understanding of these topics is preferred).
Might consider an otherwise strong candidate with experience in multi-threaded system development using Java/C/C++ on unix or linux platforms. However, cocoa development experience is mandatory.
Requirement For Core Java Developer
Experienced in core java development. Must be comfortable looking through third-party networking protocol code.
NOTE: Do not apply if you do not have core java experience. Candidates with experience developing only Swing based Java applications or primarily database dependent applications using spring/hibernate or related technology need not apply.
Candidates must meet either of the above mentioned requirements.
Candidates can apply for both the positions, but will be chosen only for one.
This will be a full-time engagement. So, if you are not able to work 40 hours per week, please do not apply.
The selected candidates can work from where ever broadband connectivity is available.
The selected candidates should be able to start work within a week of selection notification.
Although we prefer to deal with individuals exclusively, we are open to hearing from primary incorporated entities (i.e., no headhunters).
Please send (PMB) a note with the following information:
Position. Which position you are applying to (if you are applying for both the position say so).
Experience. Give examples of projects you worked on which qualifies you for the position. Be specific on the project and your role. Please give no more than 2 examples; so, select your example well. We are looking for quality not quantity. Unless you have worked for a kernel development or networking protocol development company, please DO NOT provide names of previous employers.
Education. Your highest educational qualification; the name(s) of institution(s) attended after high school along with the start and end years. If applicable, please provide summary of any networking and/or operating system course work you might have taken during the course of your education.
Self-rating. Please rate in a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest, your expertise in your field.
Contact. Please include your location, your email, and a phone number or skype id, and the best time to contact you. Specify the time in your local timezone.
Compensation. Please provide, in your local currency, your expected weekly compensation (do not provide this information in USD if you do not reside in the U.S). Also include the average monthly salary for a software developer in your country with an equivalent skill set (if you don’t have an exact figure, provide an estimate).
A resume is not required. However, if you think your chances will increase with the submission of your resume, please feel free to submit it.
Any submission with missing information (including the information about average software developer salary in your country) might be rejected.
All short listed candidates will be informed within one week from the date of submission of their application.
A phone interview will be conducted for the short listed candidates.
The selection will be based:
Our determination of your experience, and ability to excel in the advertised position based on your application and phone interview;
Your specified compensation requirements; and
Your attention to detail.
Please PMB should you have any questions.
