need someone to develop a VOIP quality test and broadband speed test. I would prefer the front end be developed using Flash as it tends to be have a better user interface than Java. The backend can be on Linux or Windows although Windows with a MSSQL backed is preferred.
These tools would be run on a website and the user would have the option to run each test individually or one combined test. The test should have the ability to install on multiple servers in different geographic locations. The test will run from those servers and point back to the main website to display the results. The results should also be stored in the database that is on the main websites server. I would also like the ability to allow people to post the test on their site using a piece of HTML code. For this option the test would run from the main server and direct to the main website to display the results. This is just an easy option to put the tool on someone’s site without installing anything.
The broadband speed test should test the customers download and upload speed by downloading a file from the sever and then uploading a file. The test should also check the latency between the end users connection and the test sever. Please see the website [url removed, login to view] for a sample.
The VOIP quality test should measures the quality and performance of the end users Internet connection for VoIP usage by simulating real VoIP sessions between the server and the end user. Each connection will be analyzed for latency, jitter and packet loss. Latency tests may be carried out using the Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) Echo command (PING). Jitter is the variation in the time between packets arriving, caused by network congestion, timing drift, or route changes. Excessive jitter occurs when the time delay is too long (high latency) and packets arrive outside the time window and get lost from the call (discarded).
