This is a project for a very simple, easy Windows Gadget that will live on the sidebar or on the desktop.
Every ten minutes, the gadget shall read a one character file from a website. The file shall contain a single ASCII character, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. Based on that, the gadget shall load and display a gif file, named appropriately [url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view], or 5.gif.
If the number is LOWER than the previous number displayed (i.e 3 instead of 4), then the image should flash to get the user's attention. The files are called (appropriately enough) [url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view], etc.
If the number is HIGHER than the previous number displayed, then the number does NOT flash.
If the number is flashing, the user can left-click on the image to acknowledge it and stop the flashing.
If the number is NOT flashing, left-clicking on the number will load our webpage into their browser.
Don't forget to initialize these cookies upon installation so it will run correctly!
Bonus if a small sound file plays if the number starts to flash.
Bonus if an alert pops up on top of all other windows to alert the user that the number has started to flash. The text shall read:
*** DEFCON Warning System ***
Alert Condition Upgraded
All nice and centered, of course, so it looks nice.
The website this is working with is [url removed, login to view], so you can observe what the different numbers mean and understand why some need to flash and others don't.
As you can see, this is a small, simple project, so bid accordingly.
If you have any questions, please post them for all to see. If you are asking a question, chances are we weren't clear enough and others are asking the same question.
Hello, I can provide this before wednesday. If you choose me today I can have it ready by tomorrow. I can also make the sound and pop-up. Please check my PM for further details.
