New web-app: A simple bank

What I Require: --------------------------- Create a simple ledger system for allows groups (classes, families, etc) to have something like a simple, virtual bank. Each group has a set of accounts. Each account has a running list of debits and credits, and a balance. Each account has an associated interest rate that is calculated and added as an interest transaction to that account each month. This is an educational tool, not a commercial product. Functional Details: --------------------------- - Users can register (name, email, password), sign in (email, password), change password. - If forgotten, user can reset password (enter email address, system sends reset confirmation email, user clicks on link in email to reset their password, system sends email with new password) - A user can create and manage multiple groups - A group "manager" (access type="MANAGER") can add other managers (add/update privileges) and readers (access type="READER", read only privileges) to the group - For a given group, manager can add/edit/delete accounts - For a given group, reader can view all data, but not edit any data - For a given account, group manager can add, delete, edit transactions that add (credit) or subtract (debit) for that account. - A manager can transfer from one account to another (creates two linked txns, debit the "from" account, credit the "to" account) - Deleting a transfer transaction deletes both of the linked debit and credit transactions - New/updated/deleted transactions re-calculates the balances on the affected accounts Technical Requirements: --------------------------- - Technology: Java + MySQL - use AJAX/DHTML in the access management page (add/edit/remove accesses) and account management page (add/edit/delete transactions and transfers) - track date/who/ip created, date/who/ip modified for users, groups, accounts, and transactions Key Pages: ---------------------------- - Register/Login/Reset password/Logout/Change password - Manage a group (edit group info, change access privileges) - View group account list - Manage account (add/edit/delete transactions and transfers)
