A simple Android app (using Eclipse):
This is a very simple app that with the push of a button will send a text message to a selected contact from your phones address book. The text message will include a formatted GPS coordinate along with a pre-selected statement that can be pushed which will open the location via Google maps.
Since the app is focused on quick position relay, the main screen should consist of the following:
1. Select contact dropdown box (Pulls from contact list)
2. Pre-set response dropdown box (Sample statements can include: “Pick me up here” or “I am currently at” or “My car broke down here”…)
3. Ability to add your own pre-set response (So if I want to add something like “I am getting drunk here”). Adding your own pre-sets will require storing the data on your phone.
4. Then under the items above there will be one large button that reads “Send Location”.
*Clarification: The pre-set responses will show up on the text before the GPS coordinates. Sample output:
Mike Douse Sent:
My car broke down here.
