Multiple Java/Scala/Kotlin developers required for extensive long term project. -- 2

Hello,

I am Mark, a small business entrepreneur, and senior Java developer. I have over 30 years experience and have been developing in Java since version 1 (nearly 19 years). I also developed, some years ago, a web application called DefCloud (https//:[login to view URL]) which has a single service called SafeBrowser. This service had at its peak about 20000 users, although due to time constraints I was not able to maintain the service properly and its usage fell.

Now however I am looking to use a whole host of new technologies to rebuild DefCloud from the ground up, focusing on building a number of very useful utilities that run on mobile, desktop and web platforms.

My extensive research over the last few weeks has led to me decide to utilise Kotlin Multiplatform for the client side development, and Java/Scala/Groovy together with a number of interested and exciting technologies (such as Kafka, Kubernetes, GraphQL, MQTT etc) to build out the backend.

There is no way that I could build all of this myself however, so I am looking for a number of software engineers to get involved and help build out this exciting project. Developers at all levels of experience will be considered.

This project will be self funded, so it is my intention to divide up the work into a large number of very simple assignments, most hopefully being completable in 1 to 5 hours (for a professional developer such as myself to complete). You are welcome to take as much time as you want to complete any one task, however each task will be paid based on that estimate (x your hourly rate), not the actual time it took you to complete the task. Therefore it is essential that you read the requirements of the task carefully, and explain why you believe the task will take longer. If I agree with your assessment I will then change the estimated hours amount on job. Obviously, if other developers agree with my assessment, they are more likely to be awarded the job

The first assignment will be to create a data load application in Java, that will generate test data for 100000 users, 20000 groups and 300000 small text notes. This data will need to be written into a local OrientDB graph database. With the users, groups and notes representing vertices, and the relationships between the users, groups and notes represented as edges. Further information will be given on the Github issue. Estimated time for this task is 2 hours. No unit or functional tests are required for this application as it is a POC application.

Your code will be subject to code review via pull request, and will be considered complete once the PR is accepted and the code merged into the main branch.

The code will be subject to certain coding standards and guidelines, which will be made available to you. Intellij Community Edition should be the development tool used to build this application.

PLEASE NOTE: I will build out and commit the initial project and create the data model classes on a private Github repository. I will give also give you specific guidance as to how to build out the data load method. It really is quite simple and should only take a couple of hours (once you have an understanding of the underlying technologies used). Your bid should be based on your hourly rate therefore, as I am looking for people I can utilise again and again for many other java assignments I have coming up.

P.S. We will use JavaFaker library for creating random test data.
