I need to construct a web page that will allow me to use validated data to populate a form on an external domain. The external domain are not interested in assisting, so there is a problem with cross-site script, or Same Origin Policy.
The objective here is simply to remove the possibility of human error. The data on my client's site has been validated, and at the moment must be painstakingly transcribed either from paper or using copy and paste from a different page. This is not acceptable, due to the volume of work.
If this is not achievable, and it must be a stand-alone application, it should be compatible with the Windows OS. .NET perhaps?
A configurable solution may be found using Java or .NET, if it cannot be done in a standard browser environment.
Essentially, you should not need to know the source site or target site to do this. Either it can be done or it cannot. We control the source site and the database behind it, but have no influence over the external site.
Don't be afraid to talk in technical terms. I am a web developer but cannot figure a way to solve this problem, hence this project.
