Group Bubbles in a D3 Chart

This is a rather simple task for someone familiar with D3.
I currently have a bubble chart which generates a bubble each time an event happens. That bubble moves around the 'chart' bouncing into walls. Eventually there are tons of bubbles at the same time bouncing into walls and into each other.
What I need is that when the user clicks on a button those bubbles (again, which are bouncing around) will regroup themselves into two groups similar to:
[login to view URL]
The only cavet is that I am not using force in my current script so either it will need to be implemented or a workaround must be found.
After that, when the user clicks back on another button everything should come back to normal and bubbles should start to bounce again.
