the part that decides this is not the script. it is the first few seconds of the call, and the status discipline afterwards. on the opening. a call that begins by introducing a web development service gets heard as a sales call and ends there. what works with business owners is opening with something specific about their business -- a site that looks dated, nothing usable on a phone, a booking form that fails -- and asking who currently looks after it. same information, completely different reception, and it qualifies them early rather than late. on the statuses. Interested, Not Interested and Follow-up Required is the right taxonomy, but Follow-up Required is where the value leaks. it needs a date and a reason attached rather than just a flag, otherwise nobody calls back and the file becomes a graveyard. every follow-up i log carries when to call and what to say. per contact you get who was reached, their role, what they actually said, the status, and the next action with a date against it. plus a short note each day on which openings are landing, because both the list and the approach improve quickly when someone is watching that. two things before any calls go out: which country and timezone the list covers, so calls land inside business hours, and whether you want leads qualified on budget or only on interest. those two answers produce very different numbers and very different quality. what i will not do is promise you a lead count before seeing the list.
