This is an URGENT project and needs to be completed within the next 36 hours. Serious applicants should PM me immediately so I can get you started - I won't even look at bids without a PM; please use it as a chance to demonstrate your English and finance/accounting skills. I'll just want to verify a few minutes of your work to make sure you're on the right track and then you can proceed through completion. The job involves 300 records and I can process about 20 per hour, so it should be about a 15 hour job, for which I'll pay $75, plus a $25 for accurate and timely completion, for a total of $100.
The project involves quickly reading through corporate information filings and pulling out five data items from each filing. The documents are all in English, and are written with a great deal of legal and financial terminology, so a strong command of the English language and the ability to interpret corporate actions and ownership is also critical. Pure data scrapes will not work for this purpose, you'll need to take a quick look at each observation and categorize it accordingly.
I'm looking for someone to pull a few data items for each observation in a sample of corporate documents. I have linked an URL to each filing document in an Excel spreadsheet. Your job will be to follow each URL and scan the document for these data items, which are generally reported as (0,1) binary variables. The documents relate to Private Equity firms and their investments in their portfolio companies. You'll be looking for 1) the method that the investment shares were purchased and B) the reason(s) the Private Equity firm gave for acquiring the shares. So a general knowledge of business relationships is important.
