Hi there, thanks for looking at our project. This should be pretty quick for someone who knows Facebook.
Our simple app runs as a "tab" on some Facebook business profiles. To see an example, go to Facebook, type "Merced Honda", and click on "view inventory" on the left menu.
The problem we are experiencing is this:
Our app contains a link which, when the user clicks it, is supposed to launch an external page in a new window. (If you followed the instructions to go to the Facebook "Merced Honda" page above, the link is the button that says "watch video".
As I understand it, Facebook's default procedure is to launch external links like this in a new window, so this is fine. The link URL itself also very simple, a brief static URL, nothing unusual.
The problem is this: On some browsers, this works fine. On others (especially, in IE7), the new window does not open. Clicking the button does nothing. And this is definitely not related to a pop-up blocker in IE7. It seems to be related to Facebook.
Got a workaround? A different way to structure the link? (Right now we just have target="_blank", but Facebook ignores these anyway). If you know how to fix this issue, we will gladly pay you for your help.
