Need a decent easy to use program which will make use of the most efficient dump / tar commands to backup one drive to another on the same machine. Would like to schedule a weekly full backup and daily incremental backups. Hopefully it will store the backup in a compressed format in order to make best use of the backup drive space and can then restore a specific file or path of files without having to uncompress the complete backup. I hope the program is fast and efficient on CPU resources (as much as it can be).
I saw a program called Amanda but i'm not sure if this will make anything easier or not nor whether it is good for a single server situation.
1.) I need the right recommendation. Hopefully a program which will easily help me find the most recent file given a date range so I know what backup to pull it from (should I keep numerous backups on retention).
2.) Help installing this program on the server.
3.) Setting this up to schedule a weekly full and daily differential or incremental backups in the most efficient manner.
4.) Help to do a restore of a specific file or specific path of files so I am sure how to use it.
5.) How to properly delete backups on retention.
## Deliverables

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
