*Project Overview* I am seeking an experienced DevOps professional to help deploy a scalable instance of the Authentik authentication service using Kubernetes on the Linode hosting platform. The project involves integrating Authentik with at least one of the following applications—Proxmox, Portainer, or Nextcloud for OpenID authentication. Additionally, I require walkthrough administrative training to manage and maintain the service effectively, including coaching on monitoring, logging, and establishing a robust backup solution. *Project Goals* Deployment of Authentik: - Set up Authentik on Kubernetes within the Linode hosting platform. - Ensure the deployment is scalable, allowing for manual increases or decreases in resources as needed. Integration with Applications: - Successfully integrate Authentik with at least one of the following applications—Proxmox, Portainer, or Nextcloud using OpenID for authentication. Administrative Training: - Provide a comprehensive walkthrough of maintenance routines, including updates to Authentik and scaling procedures. - Offer coaching on setting up effective monitoring, logging, and backup solutions. - I will create the documentation based on the training provided. - Provide insights and training on creating and implementing disaster recovery plans for Authentik deployment. - Teach methods and best practices for troubleshooting common issues that may arise post-deployment. *Requirements* Technical Expertise: - Proficient in deploying applications on Kubernetes clusters. - Familiarity with Authentik or similar authentication services. - Experience with Linode hosting services. - Knowledge of integrating OpenID authentication with applications like Proxmox, Portainer, and Nextcloud. Communication Skills: - Ability to explain technical processes clearly for training purposes. - Willingness to provide step-by-step guidance during the walkthrough sessions. Deliverables: - A fully functional, scalable deployment of Authentik on Kubernetes hosted on Linode. - Successful integration of Authentik with at least one of the following applications—Proxmox, Portainer, or Nextcloud. Administrative training sessions covering: - Maintenance routines for Authentik. - Procedures for manual scaling. - Guidance related to setting up monitoring, logging, and backup solutions. - General support during the setup to ensure I can perform ongoing maintenance independently. Project Timeline: The will begin in December of 2024, and completion is desirable during the month of January 2025. Budget: My budget for this project is $250. *Additional Information* Version Preferences: No specific version requirements; however, using stable, up-to-date versions is preferred. Security and Compliance: Adherence to industry best practices for security is expected. I'm looking for general security hardening guidance. I will be reviewing candidates who have experience that lends to this preference.
