I'm an experienced Linux user/programmer, but not an expert, and for a change I'd like to pay for some help.
I have a RAID server running a Areca ARC-1220 RAID 5 card. I want to add space to the array by adding drives, since the array is full. I've added new hard drives drives and expanded the RAID volume. All that's left to do is expand the existing EXT3 filesystem using parted or something similar. There's no other hard drive in the machine, and I can't expand the partition I booted from. I need a Live CD to run the partitioning tools.
The problem is the RAID driver I need is not yet on any Live CDs I can find -- it only was accepted into the mainline kernel tree as of [url removed, login to view], and I can't find any Live CDs that use [url removed, login to view], or have my RAID driver. ([url removed, login to view])
So. The job, if you wish to accept it, is to make me an bootable Live CD in ISO format with partition editing tools like parted, which properly recognizes my array with no excessive extra work on my part when it boots. I would pay you via paypal if you deliver over the internet, or in person in cash if you choose to deliver it in person.
The server is a 32 bit x86 Poweredge server running Debian.

Just take Knoppix 5.1.1 LiveCD, you don't need any freelancers for that. But much better solution is build right initrd image with your drivers which will not mount your root partition if you pass some custom kernel Daha Fazla
