We make a game console called RetroStone based on allwinner SoC running mainline linux.
For this project good knowledge of KMS/DRM system and linux kernel are required.
The job to be done :
1 - HDMI audio driver for A20 SoC. Currently not supported (see [login to view URL] )
2 - HDMI/LCD on-the-fly switch.
The system use several software components :
- EmulationStation (ES) (interface directly with KMS directly)
- Libretro/retroarch (interface directly with KMS directly)
- Other game system emulators
The system automatically boots on ES. From ES user can launch either retroarch emulators or other systems, or Xcfe desktop.
Currently on-the-fly switch works when on Xfce desktop. HDMI connection is detected and both LCD and HDMI works.
However on main system (ES and emulators) it's not parametered. So HDMI only show console.
Please let us know what you think is needed. What I currently think would be the way to do it is to make an external deamon that can switch the current crtc encoder/connector. Or to modify ES and retroarch source code to add the switch (but that sounds more difficult).
Please quote for both topic. More to be done after.
