Hi Joab K., I need a document specifying the steps and information needed to connect to a BACnet IP network. Please add the possible scenarios of how it could be networked and how do we need to configure our router for each case. Please add all the considerations we need to take and what do we need to know about the topology, network, subnets, etc. This is meant to be a document we hand over to the sysadmins, they fill it out and they follow the wiring instructions. After this document gets back to us with all the information and the router is wired. We should be able to scan the network remotely.
We are using a router Teltonika RUT950. We use a Beaglebone Black(BBB) as minipc. The router has mobile internet connection. The internet should be only reachable from the BBB, therefore, we need the configuration of port forwarding, DHCP, NAT, PAT or whatever is needed to make that happen. Also we need to know how to wire the router. (The router has 4 LAN and 1 WAN) The BBB must be able to reach and scan the BACnet network to find devices.
Basically we send this document to the sysadmin with the BBB and a router. They connect it taking all this considerations and configurations. They fill it out for us to know what's the current state (so it has to have spaces to fill up info, or choose from options) and after they connect it, we access the BBB remotely and we scan the network.
Please prepare a complete document, you can use images for better explanations.
