Hi, I've carefully read your job posting and am very interested in your project because I have rich experience in OCR engine development. I have built the OCR engine to get the shopping information like item, price, and total amount from machine-printed receipt. we can use bulit-in ocr engine like Tesseract or Abby, or other OCR service like microsoft azure. this would be the simplest way for us. but we can build the deep neural network like fast-rcnn to get the card number with high accuracy(99%). In order to get such accuracy, it is important for us to get the big and big dataset. The bigger, the better. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Best Regards Andrey.

Real life issues could be like , card images having stains, oil, scratches etc which causes problems in detecting the numbers and alphabets written. camera angle , skewed images , are other issues, solving all of this can't be done simply by copying code, it needs a lot of thinking and takes time, so i dont think we can just do it easily. But we have done hard problems of ANPR using mathematical reasoning. I hope it makes sense, let me know what you think.
