Custom Gear Mechanism for Consumer Product

I’m engineering a new consumer product that relies on a smooth, reliable gear-driven movement. The exact gear type—whether spur, bevel, worm or something more specialized—hasn’t been locked in yet; what matters most is achieving consistent torque transfer, low noise, and long service life inside a compact housing. Here’s what I need from you: • A proposal comparing the most suitable gear options for the space, load and speed requirements I’ll share once we connect. • A complete mechanical design in CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor or comparable), including gear geometry, shaft layouts and housing interfaces ready for prototyping. • Basic strength, wear and backlash calculations or simulations to prove the concept before tooling. • Manufacturing drawings with tolerances and material recommendations appropriate for mid-volume production. I’ll provide envelope dimensions, target rpm and initial load data right away.
