We are looking for a highly qualified mechanical engineer with experience in designing small torsion springs. We need to design a very small (mini or micro) torsion spring to close a small valve door. This small valve is insert in the outlet of a liquid tank. When the valve is closed, the tank must not leak water.
Step file of the valve is attached. The spring needs to close a small door against a rubber gasket to make it fully water tight. The rubber gasket has a hardness of 30A and the door is small so I think that ~10 grams of pressure when the door is closed would work fine.
We need the spring to be highly corrosion resistant so at least 304 or even 316SS would work but not 303.
We may need to adjust the design of the valve base and valve door to fit with the spring. EX: we may add little walls to confine the spring wire between the two walls. Or we may need to modify the door so that the spring can be installed on the SS rod that fix the door on the valve base.
Also attached is an image of the spring designed by hand.
I need this done asap and the worker must produce:
- the spring design so that it can push around 10 grams when the door is closed and permit a deflection angle of 140 degrees.
- All specifications (force, deflection), drawings and all necessary information to give to the spring supplier so we can get a quote
