Medical Coder/Biller: Telehealth Neurodevelopmental Evaluation Practice (Contract/Freelance) First Light Collaborative (FLC) is a Delaware-based, telehealth practice specializing in comprehensive neurodevelopmental evaluations for children and adolescents (ASD and developmental concerns). We're looking for an experienced freelance medical coder/biller for a one-time paid consult to review and validate our billing structure, with the possibility of ongoing work down the line if it's a good fit. About Us: Multi-provider clinical team: APRNs, a developmental pediatrician (MD), and a speech-language pathologist (CCC-SLP), each with different scope-of-practice and payer-credentialing considerations. Services follow a three-phase evaluation model: Exploration (intake/record review + family observation), Discovery (formal standardized testing using Vineland-3, CARS-2, ASRS, DP-4 , plus SLP evaluation), and Pathway (results, diagnosis, and recommendations delivered to the family). Fully telehealth, all sessions are conducted via synchronous audio-video. Working with SimplePractice as our EHR/practice management platform. What we need help with: We have a working draft of our clinical workflow to CPT codes (90791, 90792, 90885, 96130-96139, 92523, and related ICD-10 codes), built around our three-phase evaluation model. We're looking for a credentialed coder/biller to: Validate and refine our coding structure against current payer rules. Advise on multi-provider, multi-day encounter billing, several of our services involve more than one clinician in a single session, and we need guidance on correct claim structure to avoid duplicate-service denials. Clarify credentialing-aware code selection, which codes our APRNs vs. our MD vs. our SLP can each bill under their credentials, and how that varies by payer. Advise on time-based coding for work spanning multiple days — e.g., which date of service should capture bundled report-writing time. Ideal experience: CPC, CPB, or equivalent coding/billing certification. Background in behavioral health, psychiatric, psychological/neuropsychological testing, or developmental pediatrics billing, familiarity with codes like 90791/90792, 96130-series, and 96112/96116 families is a strong plus. Experience with telehealth billing (modifier 95, POS 02/10). Experience with multi-disciplinary or multi-provider practices. Familiarity with SimplePractice a plus, not required. Project type: One-time paid consult, with possible ongoing/follow-on work if it's a good fit for both sides. Estimated scope: A single consult (call and/or written review) to validate and finalize our current coding draft — scope to be confirmed based on your proposal. Location: Remote; must be able to work within U.S. healthcare billing/compliance frameworks (Delaware-based practice)
