I have in MS Access called Sales Table. I have attached a sample of the data in a table. The tables contains data for two consecutive years (2008 and 2009 in this case) and will always contain an entry for sales in each month in the year for n number of car types. The table will never have more than two years of data but it is not guaranteed that there will be an entry for each month. Sometimes a month maybe skipped all together (So use the Average function accordingly)
In the table the left four columns - Year, Month, Car Type, Sales columns have data in them. AVGSALES and Indicator won't have data in them.(I have put data only to show you the desirable result I need populated in there). Data needs to be populated in them through the query you will provide me.
1. AVGSALES needs to be populated with the average value of sales for that car type over 12 months of data for that particular year.
2. Indicator should be set to Yes if AVGSALES for that record is >=200 and the month is in between July and December irrespective of the year.
You can write this in two, three, four etc. steps. And add columns to the table if needed. The queries will be called from a macro that will be executed on the press of a button - just FYI.
Can chat and answer any questions you have once I have selected you for the project.
