We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Azure / AI developer or development team to build a secure AI Voice Agent that can interact with customers over the phone. The system must be designed to meet HIPAA (U.S.) and PIPEDA (Canada) privacy and security requirements and must be built exclusively using Microsoft technologies. The AI Voice Agent will handle phone conversations with customers, allowing them to book, manage, and cancel appointments, as well as answer general questions about our company. The system must also send SMS confirmations after appointments are booked or modified. Core Features The AI Voice Agent should be able to: Answer incoming phone calls Conduct natural voice conversations with customers Book appointments Reschedule or modify appointments Cancel appointments Check availability in Microsoft Calendar Create and update events in Microsoft Calendar (Microsoft 365 / Outlook) Provide general information about the company (FAQ-style responses) Send SMS confirmations for bookings, updates, or cancellations Optionally transfer calls to a human agent when required Required Technology Stack (Microsoft Solutions Only) The system should primarily use Microsoft technologies such as: Microsoft Azure Azure OpenAI Service Azure AI Speech (Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech) Azure Communication Services (Voice & SMS) Azure Bot Service / Conversational AI Azure Functions or Azure App Services Microsoft Graph API (for Microsoft Calendar integration) Azure Key Vault Azure Monitor / Application Insights Azure Storage or Azure SQL for secure data storage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) for authentication Compliance & Security Requirements The architecture must support: HIPAA compliance PIPEDA compliance Secure handling of personal and potentially health-related information Encryption of data in transit and at rest Secure authentication and role-based access control Audit logs and monitoring Privacy-first system design Expected Deliverables Architecture and system design documentation Fully functional AI Voice Agent deployed on Microsoft Azure Phone integration for handling inbound calls Integration with Microsoft Calendar (Outlook / Microsoft 365) SMS confirmation functionality Security and compliance best practices implemented Deployment and maintenance documentation Preferred Experience Strong experience with Microsoft Azure AI services Experience building voice bots or AI call agents Experience with Azure Communication Services Experience integrating Microsoft Graph API / Microsoft 365 Familiarity with HIPAA-compliant architectures Experience building secure cloud-based systems When Applying Please Include A short summary of your relevant experience Examples of similar AI voice, chatbot, or automation projects Your proposed architecture using Microsoft technologies Estimated timeline and project cost We are looking for a developer or team who can deliver a secure, scalable, and production-ready AI voice assistant that provides a smooth customer experience while meeting strict compliance requirements.
