Correct obvious spelling slips but leave the original wording intact is the instruction that needs a boundary, and agreeing it now prevents an argument at delivery. Anything genuinely illegible is flagged in place rather than invented — a plausible guess in academic notes is worse than a gap, because a gap gets checked and a guess does not. Send two or three representative scans, particularly any with the messiest handwriting. Those come back typed so you can judge accuracy against the originals before committing to the full set, and tell me roughly how many pages there are.
