I’m planning to launch a grocery-first e-commerce experience for the UK market that mirrors the depth and polish of Ocado. The project covers a responsive website plus dedicated Android and iOS apps, all sharing one secure, UK-hosted backend. Core feature set • Seamless online shopping with cart, secure checkout and payment-gateway integration (Stripe or similar). • Personal accounts with full order history, real-time tracking and self-service returns. • Smart product recommendations, ratings/reviews and a wish-list system that supports promotional discounts. Design & UX The look and feel must stay modern and minimalistic: clean typography, generous white space and intuitive gestures on mobile. I’ll supply brand guidelines; I expect you to translate them into high-fidelity Figma (or equivalent) mock-ups before development begins. Architecture & compliance • All customer data must reside on a UK-based server or cloud region (AWS London, Azure UK South, etc.) to ensure GDPR alignment. • REST or GraphQL API layer that feeds the web front end (React or [login to view URL]) and native apps (Swift/SwiftUI for iOS, Kotlin for Android). • Scalable micro-service approach preferred so we can bolt on analytics and inventory systems later.
