I create monthly versions of PDF files that my members have to download from an FTP site. Many of these members are older and have a difficult time doing this. I need an app for Android that will download the latest files either automatically weekly or from touching an update button. Then have a button to open the latest file in their choice of PdF viewer.
I envision the user opening the app and seeing two buttons. One called Update and the Other called Open. When the app is first open the Update button is Green and the Open button is red. When the user clicks the Update button the app will go out and download a file which will always be named the same from an FTP account. Once it has downloaded the file the Update button will go Red and the Open button will turn Green. When they click the Open button it will open the PDF file in the user's preferred PDF viewer. There should be a settings tab or button to put in the FTP server info and account username and password. The name of the file will be the same and can not be changed in the free version.
I would also like the exact same app that looks and works exactly the same but in this version I would like the option of changing the file name and also the ability to choose to download an entire folder. This will be the paid version of the app.
I hope I made myself clear enough. One app with a free version and a paid version and the only difference is being able to control the name of the file that is to be retrieved and the ability to download a folder with multiple files in it.
I awarded the iPhone version of this to someone else so this is just for the Android version.
