App: Upon start-up display logo for several seconds, then load the main screen.
- Main screen is a list of 20 venues near the user's current geographical location, ordered by the nearest on-top. Each listed venue is displayed by [on the right] its Name (large size font), below it - a sub-title (medium size font) and [on the left]: distance to venue's location in miles and kilometers. User can scroll down and up through the list of venues. User can make a selection form the list.
- Venue screen (when selected from main screen) displays an information area with additional details about the venue - information is fed from database text - the formatting and appearance of the information are subject to additional review and refinement until my approval, just a few refinements for good appearance. Buttons on the venue screen are [back] - to go back to the Main screen, [call] - to dial a telephone number associated with the venue, [drive to] - to initialize a navigation to the venue's coordinates.
Navigation should utilize the device's installed (internal, user proffered) navigation application - if more than one navigation application is available on the device - I'm open for suggestions from the developer on how to handle that in the most user friendly and application efficient way. Navigation should be ready and loaded with instructions for the user on how to reach the address of the selected venue from the current location of the user.
Back-end: On the server-side there will be a database which stores the Venue's name, sub-title, address or geographical coordinates, a picture, a free-text field, a telephone number. The database should be able to accommodate a large number of venue entries and perform searches in it quickly, so to quickly and efficiently show to the user a list of venues from the database which are near to their location.
