I'm a keen athlete and regularly train, however on mornings I choose not to train in bad weather. At the moment I need to get up early (4am), check the weather, and if it's bad - try to go back to sleep. I would like an iOS app that would set a sleep alarm but automatically cancel it or move it if adverse weather was reported in the area. Here's what I'm thinking it would look like:
Set an alarm for a certain time
Set the parameters for when it would be cancelled [e.g,, XXmm of rain reported within a XXkm radius of my (or another user-defined) location, temperature below XX deg, windspeed above / below XX]
For an hour (or so) leading up to the alarm, the app will read weather data from other sources (not sure how easy this is?). If the user-defined weather conditions are triggered, the alarm would either be cancelled or moved to another (user defined) time.
It would be a great feature to add if the app could automatically send a user-written text message to number(s) if the alarm is cancelled, letting friends know you wont be training with them that morning.
Future improvements would include an Apple Watch app (so it can use vibrating alarm) and potentially a version of the app on the Andriod store.
I am a mechanical engineer, and I have no experience of software or app development and will need an experienced freelancer to partially guide me through the process of getting an app successfully in the Apple Store - however, I am doing my own reading and research on this as well in parallel.
I would like a freelancer who is able to demonstrate a proven track record and also present a plan of how they will deliver the work, and an estimated budget / break down of hours.
