I'm looking to have an application designed/developed to for Android (and IOS as a potential secondary project) to interface with the Nasdaq halt notification website: [login to view URL] in order to notify users when a specific stock(s) (based on the issue symbol) they have chosen is halted. I would like the application to have the following features: -Allow users to add up to 100 stock symbols -Frequency option to ping website every 1, 5, or 10 minutes -System bar notification along with sound/vibrate options -Any halted stocks would show up at top of stock list and be highlighted in red, by clicking on the halted stock it provides the additional information about the halt including the reason code, halt date, halt time, resumption date, resumption quote time, and resumption trade time (These are the other boxes in on the NASDAQ website table). -Pulling down in application would function as a way to immediately ping the website to check for halts -Prevent duplicate notifications (halts typically last less than 1 hour so notifications for the same stock symbol can just be suppressed for 1 hour) In short, if added the following 3 stock symbols CTRV, CERU, and SPHS the application would check the NASDAQ website at a specified frequency for these stocks to be listed on the halt list. If and when the NASDAQ website lists one of these stock symbols the user would get a notification bar notification as well as a vibrate/sound if elected. The application would provide the additional halt details that are included on the NASDAQ website. I attached rough sketch of the app interface. I'm open to other design ideas, really whatever's easiest for you, I would just like it to look clean and polished.

Hello, As I understand it, you want an app that will accept a set of NASDAQ stock symbols, and the let the user know (with notification, sound and vibration) if and when one appears on the NASDAQ trade halt list. The data will be pulled using the RSS feed on the website you linked. Details of the halt can be viewed by opening the app, as you have specified. Note that I cannot see the sketch of the interface that you mentioned, but I am happy to work with any design you have in mind, or to implement a 'material design' look and feel. The app will be written in Java using Android Studio. If you are satisfied with the work, I am also open to writing an iOS port in the future. I am keen to work on this app, and I quote a fixed price of 300 USD with the work to be completed within 10 days. I should be able to send you the app to test within the first week, and the remaining time is for your testing and any modifications. I am a British engineering/computer science graduate and have previously worked on a few Android and iOS applications (released to the Play Store/App Store), as well as a variety of other programming challenges both on Freelancer and in my own free time. My aim is to provide regular communication and clean, professional code. My only request from you would be to use Freelancer's Milestone system for payments, for our mutual financial security.
