I’ve just unboxed my first 4/4 violin and I’d like your guidance to get it performance-ready and then help me play a short folk melody. First, I need an intermediate setup: walk me through properly positioning the bridge, selecting and fitting new strings, checking basic alignment, and showing me how to keep everything stable so tuning holds. Clear explanations, close-up photos or live video while we adjust are a must—this will be my reference for future tweaks. Once the instrument is sounding its best, we’ll shift to music. I’m a complete beginner, so I’d like a 30-second folk tune broken down into comfortable, bite-sized steps. Demonstrate bowing patterns, finger placement, and tempo control; then build me toward a confident, clean rendition. Slow-speed practice tracks and posture tips will really help. Deliverables • Setup walkthrough (recorded video or annotated photos) showing each bridge-and-string step • Brief maintenance checklist in PDF format • PDF of the chosen folk tune with fingerings marked • Practice video/audio at slow and full speed so I can replay and study We can meet over Zoom, Skype, or Loom—whichever lets me see and hear you clearly. When everything’s done, I want to tune up, hit record, and play the full 30 seconds without second-guessing any note or squeak.
