I'm in need of a Database Administrator (DBA) to design and setup a relational database. This will be developed in stages, with some dialogue between us on best practices for developing these workflows. The project DBA will require proficient English communication. As there will need to be collaboration to ensure best practices are followed throughout the development process, need someone available in my time zone (MST). Canadian Rangeland Bison & Elk is a Bison Meat processor, selling to COSTCO Canada, Retail, Shopify, Wholesaler, and Internationally to the European Union. We also have a Retail Store. Our KEY company functions around a Process called the Cut Out Instruction spreadsheet. These instructions are sent to the Plants on how we want these Bison finished (cut up into 100 different variations I.E. T-Bone Steaks, RibEye Steaks, Hamburger meat, extra). We buy Bison from local farms via signed Contracts, and the farmers ship their animals for slaughter at one of 5 different Plants (3 in Canada & 2 in USA). These Plants email me the Harvest results via standardized Excel reports at the individual Bison detail level. This information is then cut and pasted into Grade Sheets that detail and report the results and are used in the Payment to the Farmer. As shown in the attached PDF Work Flow map our current process comprises of manually cut & pasting this info to different Excel spreadsheets. Currently, we are Harvesting multiple times per week and process is very repeatable. Decisions and approvals are made based on the results calculated in the 1a Cut Out & 1b Box Import (results of the Harvest - typically 50 Head) currently done via email as the approver is located elsewhere. Weekly and Monthly reporting is done currently via Excel & Pivot Tables referencing manually populated data tables, captured at the Date of the Harvests (see PDF overview), populating these databases from this new Data Base is one of my goals, changes to reporting & enhancements are currently out of scope. The intention of this Project is to take all our manually intensive workflows and capture all these source data points into the Data Base, and to provide this single point data as the feed to additional workflows rather than the current practice of manually cutting and pasting this information. Data Quality Control and checking for outliers and exceptions will be part of this improvement to the process. Having a database that can serve as a single point data source for all the information we have outside of our accounting system (Canopy) and CMR (SalesForce) and establishing some data mapping with Links to these systems is the main deliverable of this Project. My vision is to be able to use this Project as the foundation to get us to my END GOAL (Phase 3) of awarding a Project to design and a Tool with the logic to use prior history from the 1a Cut Outs (Margins/Profit calculation) & the 1b Box Imports (inventory) to auto-generate a "Draft" Cut Out Instruction" for these Plants based on current orders in SalesForce. The database will primarily store: - Data from Excel spreadsheets - Date-based data to capture harvest results - Inventory information - Contact information A significant portion of this project will involve integrating the database with: - Salesforce CRM, pulling customer information from it and Sales Order information - Importing/exporting Excel data - Connecting with Canopy Database, our accounting system The ideal freelancer should have: - Experience in DBA and relational database design - Ability to develop and implement complex workflows - Proficiency in data import/export from Excel The database will need to have specific features to enable the end vision goal of automating the process of creating our Cut Out Instructions Tool.I'm in need of a Database Administrator (DBA) to design and setup a relational database.
