Project Description:- I am working on a research and development project focused on integrating Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) with 5G networks to enhance mobility management, reduce signaling overhead, and improve mobile device battery efficiency. The project aims to merge network-based mobility management within modern 5G architectures, minimizing the involvement of user equipment (UE) during handovers while ensuring seamless connectivity and optimized performance. Project Scope:- Design and analysis of an integrated 5G–PMIPv6 mobility framework Study of mobility behavior in high-speed and dense 5G environments Reduction of handover latency and signaling cost Evaluation of impact on battery life and network efficiency Technical Focus:- 5G Core Network Architecture Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) Mobility Management and Handover Optimization Network-Based Mobility (MAG–LMA interactions) Load Balancing and Path Optimization AI-assisted decision-making Key Objectives:- Enable seamless IP mobility in 5G without UE-side signaling Improve energy efficiency of mobile devices Optimize LMA selection based on dynamic network conditions Enhance scalability and reliability of mobility support in 5G Compare proposed approach with existing mobility solutions What This Project Is NOT:- Not a device-centric mobility solution Not limited to legacy 4G/LTE architectures Not dependent on application-layer mobility handling Not a purely theoretical study without architectural validation
