We run an e-commerce auction platform built on [login to view URL] 14 (App Router) with PostgreSQL (raw SQL via node-postgres), a .NET backend proxied through SignalR for real-time bidding, and Clerk for authentication. The codebase was built by multiple developers independently over the past year — we need an experienced developer to bring order: documentation, code review, refactoring, standardizing patterns, and shipping feature improvements. ## Scope of Work - Document current architecture (C4 notation, ADRs, data flow diagrams, DB schema, API routes) - Full code review and refactoring - Standardize patterns across API routes - Improve error handling - Conduct security audit - Optimize slow SQL queries - Improve page load performance - Set up Git workflow (branching strategy, PR process, code review conventions) - Implement feature improvements as we go ## Tech Stack - [login to view URL] 14 — App Router, API routes, middleware, server/client components - React 18 + TypeScript 5 - PostgreSQL — raw SQL via pg (node-postgres), query optimization - Microsoft SignalR — real-time WebSocket (proxied through [login to view URL]) - Clerk (auth), Zustand, React Query + SWR - Tailwind CSS + Radix UI - react-hook-form + Zod - next-intl (Russian / Japanese) - Docker (Node 22 Alpine) ## Requirements - Built a [login to view URL] App Router project from scratch (not migrated from Pages Router) - Strong PostgreSQL with raw SQL experience: EXPLAIN ANALYZE, indexing, connection pooling — not just ORM - Proven experience refactoring and documenting multi-developer codebases - Available for 2–3 short Zoom calls per week to walk through completed work - 10–15 hours/week for the next 1.5–2 months ## Nice to Have - SignalR / real-time WebSocket experience - Clerk auth integration experience - Technical documentation experience (ADR, C4, Mermaid diagrams) ## In Your Proposal, Please Include - A GitHub repo of a [login to view URL] project you built or significantly contributed to (if private — a short screen recording works) - An example of technical documentation you've written (not a README — architecture docs, API docs, onboarding guides, or ADRs) - Brief description of the messiest codebase you've inherited: - How many developers were involved - Main problems - What you fixed first - Outcome - Your hourly rate
