I'm looking for a skilled PCB designer to create a 1-axis gimbal controller board. The board should support an IMU (accelerometer and gyroscope) and motor encoders. Ideal skills and experience: - Expertise in PCB design software - Experience with IMU and motor encoder integration - Familiarity with power management in PCB design - Knowledge of signal integrity and routing Please include relevant experience in your bid. Custom 1-Axis Gimbal Controller Board Overview: We are seeking a cost-effective, application-specific 1-axis gimbal controller board designed to stabilize a downward-facing camera in a sealed outdoor enclosure. This controller must drive a BLDC motor with an encoder, and maintain a high level of angular accuracy over long-term usage. We are open to suggestions for components etc, as we have no previous experience with gimbal design. 1. Application Requirements: - Camera payload: 1800 grams - Rig status: Mechanically well-balanced - Function: Maintain fixed downward direction - Use Case: Outdoor, in a closed box without ventilation 2. Electrical Requirements: - Input Voltage: 12V to 24V DC - Motor Type: 3-phase BLDC motor - Motor Driver: Integrated (e.g., DRV8313 or equivalent) - Encoder Interface: SPI (AS5048A), optional UART (AMT203) - IMU: onboard, as the board will be mounted horizontally inside the camera enclosure, preferring ICM-20602 or similar 3. Performance Requirements: - Accuracy: ≤ 0.1° angular error over long-term use - Stability: No drift over time, low noise - Calibration: Preferably factory-calibrated or user-calibrated via button/software - Firmware: - Preloaded and tested - PID tuning support - USB/UART interface preferred - Environmental: - Operating Temp: -30°C to +40°C - Enclosure: Sealed; no active cooling 4. Mechanical Constraints: - PCB Size Limit: Max 55 x 55 mm 5. Cost & Optimization: - The board should be designed as cost-efficiently as possible - No need for generic/flexible use cases — purpose-built only for this setup 6. Deliverables & Quote Request: - Fully assembled board with firmware - Technical documentation (pinout, electrical specs, calibration procedure) - Pricing for: - 10 units (prototype batch) - 100 units (scaling quote) - Lead time and shipping options Please confirm in your reply: - Experience with gimbal/motor control designs - Whether STM32-based solution is possible (preferred) - Firmware support or flexibility for in-field tuning
