his is avery simple project that most perl programmers can complete in less than 30 minutes.
Basically, someone will open a page (i.e. [url removed, login to view]) and they will be presented with several options:
1) Current Data One 2) Past Data One
1) Current Data Two 2) Past Data Two
When the user clicks "Current Data" the script will go to a site and will extract 5 values and store them in an xml file accordingly. The data will also be presnted to the user in a table.
When the user clicks "Past Data" the script will open up the xml file and display all of the past data in 5 rows and n columns (where n is the number of records) - each column heading will be the date at which the data is collected.
Both options will be for two DIFFERENT urls with DIFFERENT sets of data... however, the data will be stored in the same xml file.
If you can complete this project in no more than two days please bid and I will send you further details.

Shouldn't it be 5 cols and n rows? it would be a very-very wide page if you use n cols
I've worked with XML, Perl and scraping data off of web pages for eight years now, this is a fairly straight-forward project.
