Graph Theory Algorithm for Student Information Network

Student Information Network (SIN):

This Web site is to be a service to the general academic populous, and as a public service to the world. The Web site will collect self-submitted responses and research essays from college-student authors who want to have their work published to the world. These articles are added to the “information databank?? (IDB) which is fully searchable; by keyword, keyphrase, and keyitem connectors, including the AND/OR Boolean functions.

When a user performs a search on the IDB, the system will process their query and return “bits?? of all the matching articles; displaying snippets of each article where the data was relevant to the query.

This data analysis is operated on-the-fly using specialized graph theory algorithms to process connections of articles and linked topics. Each time a portion of an article is accessed as a result of another author’s or user’s query, the article gains “Connection Points??. Connection Points refer to an article’s popularity in academia.

When articles are accessed by another author or user, the original author and the author who accessed the material are connected using graph theory algorithms to establish an author’s social network and reach, multiple levels deep.
