Office and PDF document thumbnail generation for asp.net

I need VB.net code that will programmatically create thumbnails of the first page of Office (versions 2000-2003 and 2007 extensions with and without 'x')? and PDF documents.? Without having Office or Adobe? installed on the server.? I will be using this in an asp.net web application to provide a preview of documents that have been uploaded.? Bidders should have the ability to deliver a sample application that will allow me to upload a file, and then display a thumbnail, with a mouseover preview that shows a larger thumbnail of the first page of the document.? I need this as soon as possible!
