Light Gun Game Engine
This is not a complete developed game. It is only the engine
to play video clips and track shots(actually mouse clicks) on a screen. The actual engine being programmed is simple and straight forward. All graphics are video related and not created by the programmer. Only video replay and image overlay graphics experience is needed for this project.
Short Summary:
Write software that plays a video clip, monitors for the location and time of mouse clicks on the video image, records these locations and times, then plays another video and continues the process.
Requires full screen video playback, seamless transitions between video clips, monitoring of mouse click location and time of click, overlay of an image file such as .png over video, overlay simple text,
various settings and cross checks.
Project will result in two programs, an authoring program(shown in example screen shot) that will create a data file which will be used by the [url removed, login to view] program that will play the file using the settings defined in the data file.
I have detailed notes about all options and settings involved. The program should be well tested and follow the described feature list.
The largest technical part of creating this program will be monitoring the mouse click location and time, overlay of an image on the video, and smooth transition from one video to another(ie no black screen and no pauses or hic-ups between shots). The remainder of the program is straight forward and clearly defined in the detailed description available to the final programmer.
I can provide test video clips.
Technical Note
When a PC light gun is fired, it is the same as clicking a mouse on the same area of the screen. You do not need to use or write any drivers for a light gun. The game can be written, played and tested using a mouse.

## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
## Platform
C++ or other program. Windows only.
I would prefer this be programmed in C++ but would consider other PC languages if no C++ programmer is available.
Continued Description
Operation
In normal gameplay, the user will run a front end program(which will be created later) that calls the [url removed, login to view] program.
The user views a full screen video clip, shoots at the screen with a light gun which emulates a mouse or clicks with the mouse. If they 'shoot/click' in a predefined area at the right time then the score is incremented by one. If they do not fire at the correct time or click outside the area there is no score increase. The next video that is played is determined by whether or not they shoot/click in the predefined area.
The size of the shooting area(where hits are registered) can be increased or decreased to make the game easier or harder.
