We need a tool built that will help us track incoming customer requests for computer parts as well as allow us to track offers we receive from out vendors. For example: Customer A: Calls in and says I need part #ABC & #123. Our sales rep will type into the system, Customer A (who our sales rep has put into the system) requested part #ABC and #123. Vendor A: Calls in and says, I have a special going on part #456 and #ABC. We need a central place to look at these requirements (through a webpage?) and to search them by part # or other attributes we assig to them. The software should be able to flag customer and vendor matches.

[Project] ??" Scope of Request Statement of Scope The project scope is defined below. The statement of scope consists of the following subsections: • Problem/Opportunity Statement ??" We need a central application for our buying and selling staff to track current requests and offers from customers and vendors. We get a steady stream of offers from our vendors for closeouts and specials they want to sell. We also get a steady stream of information from our customers of the types of goods they purchase and the specific parts they want. This information is given to each one of our employees individually by their set of vendors and customers. We want to centralize this information and make it searchable and public knowledge for the whole company to work off. • Objectives ??" Create web interface to input: • Customers company name, contact, phone number & email address (each company should have more than 1 contact) • Customers requests by specific part #’s or categories..Categories should be in a list format so all users can select them and use them company wide. Part #’s must be entered manually and searchable. • All information should be date stamped • Vendor company name, contact, phone number & email address (each company should have more than 1 contact) • Vendors offers by specific part #’s or categories..Categories should be in a list format so all users can select them and use them company wide. Part #’s must be entered manually and searchable. • A Call back scheduling utility and calendar would be a good feature. • Flags or alerts should come up when Customer and Vendor categories and/or part #’s match so we can contact each company and try to put a deal together. • Functionality ??" This should be an asthetically pleasing web environment that is easy to use for our sales reps and expandable for use by our vendors and customers in the future if necessary. • Exclusions ??" Defines a list of functionality, objectives, or actions that will be expressly excluded from the project. • Assumptions ??" We are assuming that this is a fairly simple database driven system that can use the MYSql or other free database software to run on with the possibility of upgrading later on to another server if it was to get too large. • Constraints ??" We can not foresee any constraints. • Benefits ??" This will benefit our purchasing and sales staff with the ability to identify opportunities for buying and selling.
