In Firefox, in the absence of Flash Player Plugin, users would see an empty, blank box with the words "Click here to download Plugin", which is an eye-sore. It is impractical to expect users to BOTHER to go to Adobe site to download Adobe Flash Player, install and then watch your flash file on your site. Can we have a static picture, ie graphic like gif or jpeg, in lieu of the swf file in such instances. (I can put a nicer photo instead of a blank empty box.)
Those who have a DEMO of your solutions on your website hosted on your own server will be VIEWED UPON VERY FAVOURABLY, as demonstration of actual proof of capabilities. I have Firefox without Adobe Plugin, and can see if your solution is working!
The swf file and the graphic must, of course, be of same dimensions, so that the latter can appear in lieu of the former, in the absence of flash player plugin. Isn't this common sense?
I would appreciate the embedding method of swf file onto html document, as that is most common method, and then you would ADDD VALUE : HOW YOU WOULD MAKE THAT GRAPHIC APPEAR.
nOTE: This should not compromise with the swf file's ability to play on IE, since this has ActiveX and can play swf file ALWAYS and SUCCESSFULLY (which pose no problem). So preserve the status quo for me on IE.
