My project seeks to create a program that simulates information circulation that i can then apply to a website.
It would work by having two screens (or pages) working simultaneously together in a continuous loop, with screen 2 feeding off the information uploaded in screen 1.
Screen 1: 'The Feed'
Would feature an RSS feed that automatically uploads articles (from a stored file) based on a timer/setIntervals. Once the timer runs out the next article would automatically be uploaded on top, creating a stacking effect and the timer would reset.
The timer is to be based on how many paragraphs are within the article it's trying to upload e.g. 4 paragraphs, a 4 second timer, and the timer needs to countdown. As each new article is uploaded the author and timestamp need to also change accordingly.
Once a loop has occurred the previous article would shift onto screen 2 creating a folder within the database. The folder would only contain the articles extracted metadata.
Screen 2: 'The Database'
Would feature folders as they are added to 'The Database' based on the same setIntervals as the articles uploading in 'The Feed' and would continuously reshuffle as a new one is added .
Within 'The Database' I would like to include a set of controls in the form of a pause and play button, that allowed the user to stop the flow momentarily and view the contents of a folder, whilst seeing a backlog of files occurring. When the play button is hit, the cycle would speed up and continue from the lastest addition.
'The Database' would also include a marquee inspired scrolling text running from left to right, that continuously counts the files as they are uploaded.
