Job Description: PROJECT NOTES :: 22/3/2007
We are building a very dynamic events guide that would list a broad type of events happening in a city or country or a town, users will be able to select an rea and view evenst in that whole area and they will have a drill down search
enabling them to drill down search particular areas and locations.
THIS PROJECT WILL BE BUILT ON THESE 2 SCRIPTS UNLESS THE PROGRAMMER HAS A FASTER SOLUTION FOR THIS.............
We want to build this using aspects from PHP Classifieds [url removed, login to view] features that have already been added into Mukaka & Dolphin [url removed, login to view] ( features like, chat , IM, Video chat etc).
Please look at this website [url removed, login to view] as we wnat to clone this but have features like on [url removed, login to view] Classifieds.
The interngration of Dolhin cna be added
later to ensure that we move quickly.
Calendar Aspects Intergration : fOR EXAMPLE [url removed, login to view]
We need to intergrate calendar aspects as this an event guide , recurring events ( for example [url removed, login to view]), dynamic week or month repeater of events :Please look at some of the link in the bottom of the page.
White Label Solution:
This solution will be intergratbale into various , other site seamlessly and look as part of the website .In the admin , we will have an optionto hide or suspend any category, subcategory or subsubcategory.
Events Like :
Clubs, sports, exercise,social activities ,competitions,etc
We need a very dynamic and configurable serach for eanc and very parameter :For example
Clubs will have search options like opening times , closing times, Cost of the Event ( This is very very important and needs to be dynamic , because in some cases the priving structure is not simple, and they maybe a number of differrent packages. for example Free Before 9:00 pm , £10 before 10:00pm , £15-00 after 11:30 pm .
Preconfigured Searches :
For example Clubs will have their own specific search paramters and these are options that will be available on the submission [url removed, login to view] example please look at this link [url removed, login to view] and look at this link for the advanced search : [url removed, login to view];action=fsrlt&pn=&cc=&ad_id=&atp=motoring&ps=10&cpg=sf&ord=&iss=&prc=&ukloc=&c1=11078&c2=&make=&model=&subtap=cars_lvl2&cat_group=&cat_sub=&tmpSubSelect=&mnp=&mxp=&psc=&psc_dis=&do=&kyd=&x=21&y=7
AD SUBMISSION PAGE:
So each page will have its own specific search paramters , thta are configurable from the admin.
Free Categories & Paid Categories :
We will be able to easily determine from the admin , whether some Events categories are free or paid for.
Each Events may have differrent price packages and strcutures.
There will be some recurring vents and we need a good script that links to a calendar and then allows the users to
PhotoGallery Per Category /subcategory.
The ability also to sell image from the photogallery.
We require an Events Reminder, that users can subscribe to.
User will be able to login and ad events
For the rest of the fucntions please look at Dolphin features and PHP Classifieds.
We can pay between US$12 - US$15 per our for this work.

Here’s my project, beyond general PHP skills, it requires basic SQL and access control structure knowledge. I need an event calendar that is customized to support a structure where admins add top line event info/dates and registered users then fill-in the details and particulars for those events. There is already an existing calendar framework (very comprehendable & clearly commented) that I want to use here:
[url removed, login to view]
so, there’s no need to code an entire calendar. All that is needed is customizing it to my needs.
There are four levels of access:
Admin: can do everything (create, update, delete, plus manage users)
Managers: can create, alter, and delete events
Registered Users: can create (but usually won’t) and complete events assigned to them
Guests: can view events & calendar but, nothing else
Managers will click on a particular date to add an event. They will be presented with a form with the following fields: Event Name, Location, Event Type, Category, & Reoccurs. Important in these fields are:
Event Type: this will be a dropdown list of different event types. The selected event type will determine what form is called that registered users need to fill-in.
Category: will determine which registered users (based upon a common group level) can fill-in the event details.
Reoccurs: This is already in the script but, I want it to be modified. Right now, a reoccuring multi-date event is entered as one table row in the database (entering info for any particular date in the span is reflected in all of the dates). I want, if the manager adds multiple dates to an event, individual rows to be created for each event date (all with the same event info) so, each date in the span can be edited without affecting all the other dates in the reoccurring event.
Based on the Event Type selected by a manager, users will be filling-out an event details form customized to that type of event. So, I will need 4 forms with around 10-15 questions designed to submit that particular information. Separate php files for each type should be created and then included based upon the event type.
I think it makes sense to create separate tables for each type of form and have the master events table unique “id” field to serve as the identifier to locate the data in the separate tables (and obviously the “event type” field in the master events table to tell which particular table to search).
Filling Event Details:
To separate the creating of events from the filling in of event details, I want the event creation form to be linked to each numeric date on the calendar but, the event details forms to be linked to the individual Event Name link that is created in each particular date. So, clicking “15” on the calendar will bring up the simple event creation form but, clicking on say “Mardi Gras Street Festival” in the date cell will pull up the details form.
Maybe the biggest hack that needs to be implemented is event photo uploads for each event. When an event is created, there should be an “Add Photos” link (along side the “Edit” link) in the event popup window. The photo upload form should present 5 upload fields along with a short description text field for each. The upload should do your standard resizing & automatic thumbnail generation (GD2). Uploaded photos need to be associated with the particular event and should be displayed (thumbnails linked to full-sized popups) at the bottom of the event details page.
Included in the logic of each individual form, there needs to be the ability to edit/update event details and delete event photos. IMPORTANT: only admin & managers should have the ability to delete an event. Users can delete event photos. So, the “edit” link needs to pull the appropriate form and associated photos when clicked.
I will obviously need to see the basic functionality but, that’s it. I do not need any graphic work or custom skinning done on the calendar.
1)Clubs or Events Managers can upload their logos
2)Upload image for the Event………
