What I am looking for is something quite different from the ordinary:
I am looking to purchase a website, update it, and get income from it. However, I need help with this and that's where you come in.
I am looking for someone with a proven track record for developing websites who would be interested in working with me to rehab a website to increase profits. I need help finding a website that may be the right opportunity and suggestions about how you can improve it. In other words; many of you have really good skills when it comes to developing websites, but do not have the budget to do so. I have the budget, but not the skills.
I want you to find a site that is currently for sale on a website like [url removed, login to view] and tell me how it could be reworked to increase or at least maintain profits. I want to buy something that has residual profit and I am not afraid of putting some time and money into getting the site where it needs to be.
I want you to spell out:
What it needs
How to fix it and an estimate of the costs of doing so as well as a time-frame for reaching income goal
In return, I would be willing to offer you the increase in monthly profit for a set amount of time. For instance:
You tell me that [url removed, login to view] is for sale at, say, [url removed, login to view] and it needs to have SEO performed to be able to reach its full potential. The site is currently making about $500 per month in ad revenue. You tell me that with some work, the site could generate $600-$900. If I feel confident in the plan that you have, I will purchase the site. You "repair" the website and get the site making, say, $900 per month. I would be willing to give you (which would be laid out in writing and mainly dependent on the income potential of the site) the difference between the current income ($500/month) and the and the "improved" income ($900 per month).
In this instance, we could arrange that you receive $400/ per month ($900 current minus $500 previous) for the period of 4 months for a total income of $1,600 as well as a monthly rate for maintaining the site. We could arrange a bonus structure for increased revenue as well. This could be a very good opportunity for the right individual and, depending on your performance, could turn into a permanent job with some nice residual income.
I will be investing in a site anyway, and using this method it could be extremely beneficial to the both of us. I could be sure that you would be interested in finding the website with the best chance of success (because it would be in your best interest to find a site with the most income potential) and you could have the opportunity to make some serious money with no risk aside from your time.
We would need to structure the profit-sharing according to the percentage of the increase in profit.
There are two ways for you to approach this:
1. Find a site that is not currently producing any money (which, in turn will be cheaper for me to purchase) in the hopes of a greater return on your time invested (%100 of monthly income for a period of time).
2. You could suggest a site with a higher current income (requiring a greater investment on my part) with a lower return on the investment of your time. The numbers would be adjusted so that in either case, your income would in line with the time you spend on the site. This will eliminate the conflict of interest of you feeling the need to suggest a higher priced website (increasing my risk) in order increase profit for yourself.
For instance; if you suggested a site with an income of $300 and the site cost me $2,500, then you would need to increase the profit to $600/month to receive roughly $300. Type this into Google to get an idea of what you can make (plug in a few numbers and see how the profit for you increases DRAMATICALLY according to the amount of income you can generate):
((100/(I/N))/100)*[url removed, login to view]
*insert the monthly net income where I have "N" and insert the amount of money invested in the site where I have the letter "I" hit "SEARCH"*
(yes, I know this formula can be simplified, however it's late and I haven't written it down on paper)
If, however, you increased the monthly income to $1,300, then you would end up with nearly 100% of the profit per month for 4 months (or more, depending on our agreement but in this case, roughly $5,000).
Again, what I will need from you to consider you for this opportunity is:
1. Which site you propose fixing up and how you would go about doing it
2. A general idea of the costs of upgrading the site including the cost of outsourcing development
3. An approximate time-frame in which to achieve return on investment. (we will use this date to begin averaging the month's income, which in turn will determine your pay)
We would structure your pay so that we would take an average of the income for the first X number of months after the completion date which you propose and pay accordingly. In order to protect me from having someone disappear after the first 4 months of income, and leaving me with a website with income that was not sustainable, I would need to have 2 times the number of months of income paid to you before cutting a check for the final 50% of the project.
In other words, if the average of the first 4 months following the proposed completion date was, say... $900, then I would need at least $7,200 in income before releasing the final 50%. You would receive $1,166 after 4 months, and $1,166 after another 4 months. I really am a generous person so if the income kept increasing after the first payout, I would certainly adjust the second payout accordingly. Keep in mind that the more you increase the traffic relative to the initial investment, the greater your share of the profit for the number of months that we negotiate- all the way up to %100 (plus a possible bonus). For instance, if you increased the monthly income to $1,100 instead of $900, you would receive two payments of $1,742.
Also be sure to note that these numbers are heavily weighted on a lower initial investment relative to monthly income. Less initial investment for me equals MUCH higher pay for you once the project is complete.
Thanks for reading all this and I hope you are interested. Please PM me you ideas you may have and include the pay that you would receive based on your projections (just to show me that you understand what I have been talking about).
Private messages without this pay projection will be ignored. If you can't figure out how to calculate what you would be paid in this instance, then I don't think that you are serious about this project. I'm sorry if I sound like a jerk saying that. I'm really not. I just know how many of the bidders on this site are.
The formula used to calculate your pay could be adjusted; this is just what I came up with for now. It's not like it is written in stone yet. We would need to agree on a final formula before work began on the site- just to protect us both.
Oh, one more thing; I have set the budget for this project really low. Not because I expect to pay that obviously, but because it will cost you less upfront if and when I accept your bid. (I am new to this site so I hope that works.)
Thanks again and happy bidding!
