Wordpress Theme Customization

I need a very small change made to a Wordpress theme. It is a functional change, not a CSS change.
I need to add a caption to the images that display within a portfolio post. See [url removed, login to view]
Click on a portfolio image. A slider appears where you can browse through a series of images which all belong to one post. I need a caption as in this site [url removed, login to view]
I was able to add a caption but it was the same for every picture. The site uses [url removed, login to view] and javascript to create the images so a custom coded solution is required (as opposed to how you would add a caption for a normal wordpress post).
Captions can be added to all pics vias the standard wordpress media backend, they just need to be called.
For an experienced wordpress programmer I don't think this should take longer than 1 to 2 hours? I am trying to learn more about PHP and wordpress and would also be interested in being shown how this is done, maybe via SKYPE?
