We're looking to run our own medium volume faxing server that can send, receive, and confirm faxes. We require support for 1,000-5,000 faxes daily, and ideally with easily configurable flexibility for additional volume.
We would also like to hook into DIDx or a similar service to provide telephone numbers for our users to send/receive faxes and to buy a block of shared numbers to handle our outgoing fax volume.
Currently we have an online application that handles the document formatting, conversion, and sending as an email attachment with a unique fax id in the subject line. The server would receive the emails from our website, and then forward them onto their destination; the destination number would be passed as: 6564447878 [at] [url removed, login to view]
On success or failure, the server would email the user by cross-referencing with our database via the fax id to find the user's email address and then mail them the appropriate message.
We'd like to use an open source telephony platform like Asterisk or Freeswitch, preferably with one of the web-based configuration and management systems like FreePBX or equivalent. This would all run on our Cloud Linux Server and Send/Receive faxes completely through IP.
