I am in the process of researching the best way to develop a cross platform game (iOS, Android, Facebook) and seems like Unity3D is a great choice. However, my game is a board game and 3D is not necessary, but may be nice. Just not sure if it will translate into a 3D engine, but I am hoping to be surprised.
First I want to do a prototype to see how this would look in Unity3D. This will be a very easy proof of concept. Just create a gameboard. And give the player some random rummy tiles they can drag on the board. That is it. NO AI. No Game Rules. Just a board that you can drag and drop pieces on to. It does not have to be super pretty- just functional. If it works functionally, I will hire someone to develop the game and make it pretty at that point.
Must export a version that works on iPhone and Android as a test.
What is tile rummy? There are a lot of good screenshots here that show what tile rummy looks like: [url removed, login to view]
Also [url removed, login to view] is a good place to download a free trial of a pc game.
