I am not sure if this is possible with what I have, but I want to get my feelers out there to see if this is something that can be accomplished. I would like input, on the idea, and feedback, and if there is a high chance of it being possible, the project will commence.
the baseline: - What I have.
- I have an 800# for my business. I receive hundreds of calls a day from folks checking on the repair status of their equipment. If I could eliminate my time on the phone just checking status, life would be great!
- I have a custom piece of php software I put together that manages my clients, work orders, jobs, etc.
In this database (mysql) I have a massive amount of data on each client, machine, work etc.
Name, Phone #'s, Work Order #'s, etc. As well as Status: Open, In progress, On Hold, etc. As well as % Complete... 0 - 100%
What this idea is in my head:
I want a client to be able to call my toll free. I can setup a directory, redirect etc whatever need be.
I want them to be able to call, " If you would like to check the status of your repair, press 3 " ( I can set that up all day.. )

Then they would be re-routed to another message " Please enter your Work Order #, and press # "
The call could then be re-directed? to another machine in my shop or..what have you.. that would check the database for the WO#
and read to the client either the Progress Status, and or % of completion "
And then end the call.
Is this possible somehow?

I have access to many machines that can be utilized, as well as VOIP.
