487451 IT Service Management PHP/MySQL Web App

we need a new Web MySQL/PHP app to manage all our warranty service work

ONLY honest and excellent PHP coders may apply.


we currently use the open-source MySQL/PHP Web app MANTIS to manage all our SL projects.

and, because, Mantis is open-source, and we are familiar with Mantis, and Mantis already has almost all functionality we need, we believe it would be a good idea to just simplify, modify, and enhance the open-source Mantis code to create our new Web warranty service app.

(our app is coded-named SMS. service management system.)

to see how normal Mantis looks and works (it is not currently latest version, and recently has a new bug so you have to keep using F5 all the time to get form to come up - we think this may be HOST related NOT Mantis as we are seeing same prob in all our Web apps).

when you log on to our Mantis PM, you will also see a lot of documentation for this project and Mantis for your on-going assistance (this will also be attached to this project)

the existing SCREEN shots are NOT meant to be EVERY form/screen in app!! just some important/major examples)

as project goes on, we will be adding more screens and comments based on your prototype results (as you will too)

if using Mantis as prototype, you would download and install latest ver locally and upload modified ver to our development environment ../sms-dev/.. which you will have FTP access (you will also have MySQL access too)

NOTE: you don't HAVE to use Mantis as prototype, and develop your own, or use something you think better, but initially we would still use its forms to document/show what functiuons are needed in any new app.

because of our service model, our service system functional requirements are less much more simple comnpared to many and to what Mantis has.

the biggest enhancement/change to normal Mantis is the requirement to pull & use some data from two existing MySQL DBs (on same server)

the other biggest change will be mainly REMOVING existing Mantis functionality FROM the current Mantis forms becaause we don't need it (but leaving underlying functionality there so don't have to try to delete it from code).

(as per above, we have done and attached a dozen of so screen shots to show some examples)

the third major area wil be modifying the existing Mantis tables and drop-down to values that suit our needs


Current and/or Planned Service Procedures Overview

(please see attached flow chart and documentation for details)

our existing & new enhanced service steps are something like this -

1. user phones with warranty problem

2. we use new app to pull data from existing warranty db (REG) to validate warranty type & status

3. we create job sheet

4. we assign a Service Agent by pulling & searching data from existing app SAM (which also includes all searching & and mapping) functionality).

5. we (will) save job in SMS app and email service agent a link and login details to new job to access/print etc

6. service agent does job and updates on-line job sheet with required details and saves job

7. we close job.


Other functions/features

1. service agents should be able to login and see their current and past jobs

2. management alerts, based on job milestones (already prototyped in Mantis)

3. on-screen & printed management reports on jobs, warranties, service agents and warranty resellers

4. there would be different levels of user access (already prototyped in Mantis)-

admin/office/service/service agent/user

they would have different levels of form access/data modification/reports/


there is an additional much smaller separate module to do once SMS is completed, for parts management, but we are keeping it as a separate project.


we are not after a rushed immediate completion, but a great final result. we expect total project to take at least a month and possible two, from start date to finish date.

we don't want any bid UNTIL you have looked at how Mantis works (if you haven't used) and all attached documentation.

we work on AEST and are usually available constantly by Skype and email at least 5 days per week



having wasted a LOT of time AND money on totally hopeless, and dishonest, coders in past, AND, because an unfinished app is completely USELESS to us, we will NOT make ANY actual payments before we have a functional prototype working in our developmrent environment

HOWEVER we are happy to make an inital ESCROW payment, and substantial progressive ESCROW payments as project progresses, and we see work being done & results achieved
